This was the first paper written for my communications 2150 class. Looking back on this experience I am able to connect many of the things we learned in class to my experience. We learned about the differences between cultures. Some cultures are individualistic and others are collectivist. Based on these notions people from various backgrounds react differently to situations, speak in different forms and value various things. This paper helped me realize how important effective intercultural communication is. Having taken this class I feel better prepared to communicate with others different from my own culture and to be more aware of others situations, backgrounds, and ways of thinking.
